District rankings
Read this first: these are counts that schools reported. A high number can mean a district reports more thoroughly, not that more bullying happens there. A low number can mean under-reporting. Each official source is ranked on its own and is never combined with another into a score. Different sources and states can't be compared.

How this works
- School rows are added up to the district using the official NCES district (LEA) ID. Count = sum over schools that reported a value. The rate's denominator is the summed enrollment of those same reporting schools.
- Partial: fewer than 80% of the district's schools in this source reported a value. Treat the total as incomplete.
- Small districts: in rate view, districts with fewer than 500 students in reporting schools are listed separately and not ranked, because rates from tiny counts swing wildly (one report at a 50-student school would be 20 per 1,000).
- No data / suppressed: no school in the district reported a usable value (blank, suppressed, or not applicable). These are never shown or ranked as zero.
- Public student incidents and public staff-misconduct cases are separate columns: the number of AnitBully-approved news/official incident reports linked to the district in the chosen date range. It is a different kind of information and plays no part in the ranking.
- Charter and other non-geographic districts have no boundary, so "Show on map" zooms to their schools instead. See the methodology.
